Remembering your place in prayer
Last week a Bishop provided us some instruction in prayer, in particular a way to improve your rosary reflections. It was quite simple….and as I practiced it today quite brilliant.
In our Rosaries we often get right into the decades. We only speak the mystery, the sacred Bible verse at the beginning of the decade. In the recitation of the Hail Mary’s we often forget what we were supposed to meditate on. Jesus’ Birth? The Presentation?
The good Bishop instructed us to say the mystery or some part of it after the name of Jesus or between the Hail Mary’s. This way you stop, and say the words which ensure you remember the reason and gospel lesson we are to meditate on. Well it works…brilliantly!
